Performance Review

Assignment Description

Purpose

Reflecting on writing is an activity that strengthens your awareness of your own habits, strengths, and opportunities to improve. Assessing your own writing is a significant part of that process. To that end, this assignment asks you to review your goals and your work this semester, assess it, and analyze yourself as a writer.

Performance reviews in work and other organizations are a related process, and will be part of your advancement and growth as a worker or member of an organization. In many professions, a yearly performance review is an employee’s main forum to discuss working conditions, compensation, and individual development with your employer. They are opportunities to grow, to communicate with supervisors, and argue for advancements, such as promotions and raises. This is a place for you to argue that you are an essential employee, and you should be compensated fairly for your skills.

Deliverables

In this assignment, you will be reviewing your performance in BTW 250. This review will take several forms.

  2. Revised Strengths & Goals Memo: You will also revisit your Strengths and Goals Memo from the Onboarding Process, revising it to reflect your development during the course.
  3. Performance Review Form: In the genre most similar to many workplace scenarios, you will perform a self–evaluation of your progress, and rate your work for the class.
  4. Performance Review Presentation: Finally, you’ll take your Performance Review materials and present them in a multimodal form.
