Assignment Description
Purpose
One of your last tasks at any firm you work for is often to train your replacement. As the expert on your current role, your company will ask you to produce materials that help them to choose the best candidate to replace you and to give that new employee the tools they need to succeed in the new role. For this assignment, you will choose one of the jobs or volunteer opportunities you’ve engaged in in the past or one you research and create materials that prepare a new candidate to step into that role.
Deliverables
1. Job Description
You’ll begin this assignment by finding and analyzing a job description of your current role or a role you research. You will write a reflective memo to your teacher discussing the important information, formatting features, and organization of this job description.
2. Request for Time Off
You’ll also write a request for time off asking your current supervisor for time off from your current responsibilities so that you have time to work on your procedure manual.
3. Procedure Manual
Finally, you’ll construct a procedure manual that would allow a new employee to step into your role. The procedure manual should be detailed enough that a new employee could perform your work without you there to teach and guide them.
