BTW 279: Writing Job Applications
Course Description
The job market is tough, and sometimes it’s hard to even get your foot in the door. In Writing to Get That Job—a 1-credit, half-semester online course—students spend eight weeks learning to write job letters and résumés that land people interviews (and some things to help during and after said interviews). Through carefully tailored activities and assignments, students will learn to use the career resources available to them, target résumés and cover letters to particular situations, prepare for interviews, and negotiate employment terms. Coursework includes one required online class meeting per week and a series of short writing assignments. We run 1-2 sections per year of this course per year.
