Job Application Portfolio
Purpose
In this assignment, you will first select two job ads that you would be interested in applying for, and analyze them to identify what they are looking for in ideal candidates. Then, you will write tailored résumés and cover letters for each of the job ads you located (2). Finally, you will detail how you tailored your materials, comparing and contrasting your two sets of job documents, in an Author’s Memo.
Deliverables
Résumés and Cover Letters (1 and 2)
For this assignment, you will perform the following steps:
- Select two job ads that you would be interested in applying for.
- Analyze the two selected ads to identify what the interviewers are looking for in ideal candidates.
- Write a tailored résumé and cover letter for each of the two job ads you located (by the end of this assignment, you should have two résumés and two cover letters).
Genre: Résumé (for résumés) or letter (for cover letters)
Word count: 1 page (for résumés) or 200-250 words (for cover letters)
